how to write how i feel...it's totally indescribeable. thanks for your prayers and support up to this point, but papaw is in a better place now. no more suffering, no more gasps, just pure Heaven, pure joy, pure peace, pure rest.
i got to tell him i loved him, that we loved him, and we were there for him. his heart rate dropped and in a second he was at perfect peace. his hand was still so warm.
but, oh, how it aches now. but where he is there is nothing but sheer joy. and i got to tell him all i needed to, he knew how i cared.

update: cousin stephi has a tribute to papaw posted now.

Thank you for taking the time to visit me in all your troubles. I pray that you will know that blessed comfort of the saints....that there are no tears in heaven, that weeping might last for a night, but that joy comes in the morning. Praise God for your pawpaw, his life, his love of you all and above all his salvaton through Christ Jesus. May our blessed Saviour wrap you and your loved ones in HIs tender arms at this time.

I just wanted to let you know that you are in my prayers! You are a very sweet girl...your PawPaw was lucky to have such a precious granddaughter!
I am thankful I got to know you a few weeks ago, and am weeping with you in the passing from earth to heaven with your PawPaw. It sure hurts - I know. But I know too, that your PawPaw beholds Jesus and is awestruck with His presence. We can only imagine. But our hearts ache and hurt here, and someday, these tears will be wiped away when we are all together, for forever. Know I care, and if you need to write, please do.

I'm sorry at your loss - glad he is in heaven but know your heart will ache physically for him for quite awhile.
Death is the sad part of our lives but God have always His promise that there is a place that He preparing for us. We know someday we see our Dear Saviour face to face - He is faithful and true.
