well, well, well...what can i say? just this evening, on the way to karate, i found out my great-uncle on my mother's side, the only surviving brother of my maternal grandfather, had surgery to remove a tumor this afternoon and now is in icu on a respirator. uncle dee has been like a grandfather to me for the past few years, not to mention he loved my mother as his own daughter - as my grandfather passed away 11 years ago, unexpectedly, and uncle dee never had any kids.

so, we're getting quick showers and heading off to see him. God, continue to give us all strength...

update: we are now back from seeing uncle dee. thankfully, he's off the respirator, but still on heavy oxygen and in icu. please, please be praying for him to get things right with God. we have signs to hope he's given his heart and life to Him, but are not confident in that fact. just please be praying that he will be confident, whether any of us know it or not. he also has lung cancer, but he is not aware of that just yet. unfortunately, it's a rapidly growing type.

Meagan, you and your family have been through so much lately. It is a blessing to see your faith remaining strong. Let me share some Scripture that I hope will help sustain you.

For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God. For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal. II Corinthians 4:15-18

You and your family remain in my prayers.

Sweetie, I came by to leave a note and a hug--and see how you're doing. Hope you know how much you and your family mean to me. In just a short while, I've grown so fond of my little sister in Christ, so very encouraged by your faith in the Lord. Hang in there, dear one.

I was saddened to hear your pawpaw died (but actually he lives!) and will continue to lift you up in prayer. Now your Uncle Dee needs our prayers so please count on me for that. Only the Lord knows what transpires in a person's heart during these times. My own father received Christ on his deathbed--it wasn't very vocal, but the Lord orchestrated things so I could be by his bedside when he prayed with the hospice chaplain. And then he slipped away a few days later. I knew the Lord had called him safely home.

If you ever need to chat, please let me know. My email is nursewriter@gmail.com--just so you have it.

love you bunches,
Vicki

Father,

I ask that you would again pour out your grace and mercy and heal all the broken heart and souls. I ask for the salvation of Megs uncle and I ask that you would confirm with a powerful sign to Meg, Lisa, Tara and all involved that you have this mans heart. Please pour out your spirit and allow your peace which surpasses all understanding to prevail in these hard times. On the merits of Jesus I ask for this.....Amen

I just prayeed right now. My cousin had brain surgery last week, and her brain started bleeding so they induced a coma. Now she's already out of the hospital and doing great. I hope your uncle recovers quickly too. :)
