last post of 2005

just wanted to make a quick last post of 2005...we went to two new year's parties, but didn't stay until the new year at either one. haha instead, we came home to fulfill our tradition - watching the ball in new york drop on fox news! it's been a great year, and while i have a few things to weed through during 2006, i have hopes it will be my best year yet! after all, tomorrow has no mistakes in it!

i was told my eyes were pretty (a much welcomed compliment! i smiled all day because of it!)
as of yesterday, i'm officially relieved of my duty of iguana-sitting...we both survived the ordeal!

iguana-sitting

everyone, meet zareb! i've been iguana-sitting since last wednesday for a friend who went out of town for christmas...it's been interesting, to say the least. my dad's threatened to get a gun if it got loose, mom steers clear of the cage, and faith is by my side each time i feed him.

other than that, i was called into work today. i had planned on taking it easy, but my boss called and said two people were out sick - both of the cashiers (which just happens to be my job!) and she really needed me to come in...and be there in 2 hours! the day was great! one of my co-workers gave me the sweetest, most "thoughtfulest" card ever!

speaking of him, i better go feed zareb. i want to keep my friend! :-D

christmas 2005...pictures!

this christmas was a great one...definitely the best christmas of 2005. what?!? there was only one christmas in 2005...my bad. anyway, here's the pics to prove i was there!

we started the day off with pictures...while our makeup and hair was fresh - the best way to get pics. isn't the family lovely?











next up is the cute couple - Josh & Tarah. i thought they looked like a model couple while doing pictures today!









i was able to get a picture with them...but i had to stick my head in. i tried to get close to my bro, but he just retreated the other way....i wonder why ~hmmm~

cousin russell came up for a surprise visit this Christmas - it's been about 3 or 4 years since we've seen him. he used to be like a brother to me...and it almost felt as if we were back in time and the closest of buddies once again! he better not wait another 3 years before showing up again!

A family had twin boys whose only resemblance to each other was their looks. If one felt it was too hot, the other
thought it was too cold. If one said something was too loud, the other claimed the volume was just right. Opposite in every way, one was an eternal optimist, the other a doom & gloom pessimist.

Just to see what would happen, on Christmas Eve their father loaded the pessimist's room with every imaginable toy and game. The optimist's room he loaded with buckets of horse manure.

That night the father passed by the pessimist's room and found him sitting amid his new gifts crying bitterly.

"Why are you crying?" the father asked.

"Because my friends will be jealous, I'll have to read all these instructions before I can do anything with this stuff, I'll constantly need batteries, and my toys will eventually get broken." answered the pessimist twin.

Passing the optimist twin's room, the father found him dancing for joy in the pile of manure. "What are you so happy about?" he asked.

To which his optimist twin replied, "There's got to be a pony in here somewhere!"

baking, making, and updating

i baked lots and lots of goodies - including a "pilot recipe" for banana-nut muffins & german chocolate
then bagged them up and gave them for Christmas treats
i made a few lattes today
a co-worker even let me make her one. i went with 1/2 vanilla flavoring & 1/2 coconut...good stuff!
oh, and i did also blend a few smoothies! mmmm
i'm now off work for an entire week - thanks to my incredible boss!
us girls are officially yellow belts as of monday! yipee we are yellow belts in 2005
i get to have a long 7 days dedicated to shopping, my family, cleaning my room (what a joke!), and blogging! :-)

the singing & signing went great, Doug - thanks for checking! Stacy sang wonderfully, as always, even though she was battling some sinus drainage - we were both in constant communication with the Father about her voice...and He answered faithfully!

wow, the mustang sure needed to be washed - inside and out! my sweet and thoughtful dad gave her the outside bath, and i gave her a good vacuuming! all that's left is to get the windex to the windows and wash away my little sis' fingerprints. she'll look as good as new...if i get around to cleaning the inside windows! :-) can't wait to drive her!

tonight, i have the awesome opportunity to once again Sign Breath of Heaven...i think i like Signing so much because i get to put myself in another role and a chance to get a glimpse through someone else's perspective - all while others get a blessing and worship our God and King. and, i guess Mary has always intrigued me and for years i've wondered what she thought and it's an honor in a sort of way to get to Sign a song about her. ...maybe i'm just crazy though :-S

joshua has heard the rumor right...test papers have been given! it includes t, faith, and myself. just as i decide orange is the best belt to be (besides black, that is) we're given our papers! i knew it would happen just that way, because it's the way it happened right before we got our test papers for orange belt. but, we do get to move on and learn some really cool moves - such as a thing called the blitz. it's this really cool, 4-step punch technique! i'm so excited, i just can hide it....ok, enough, enough...

for those of you who are wondering...The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe was great! although some of the characters weren't exactly as i had pictured them in my own little "world," it still made for a grand movie - a movie i had been looking forward to for some time! as the image says...encounter the power
