court date

Tomorrow is the day when I go to court to get the driving with an expired tag ordeal taken care of...Please pray that the judge will be merciful and listen to our side of the story before making a judgement. We've got a letter from our local Tax Commissioner saying it was their fault, blah, blah, blah. I'm hoping and praying the judge will pay attention to it, but there's no telling until he gives the verdict. To see the complete story, go to the original story.

I know or have connections to just about every other judge in our county (at least, I think so!) but it had to be this judge, one who doesn't seem to have many ties to people I know! LOL

And I know I'm not making my rounds as I usually do, I'm sorry you all - I've missed it and feel like I've missed part of my life when I miss out on yours, but I'm trying to keep these ribs happy! Hopefully, it won't be too long before they are healed up! :-)

Sorry for not posting a Thankful Thursday - God knows I'm thankful, and that's what matters! Love to all my good friends!

I was heading in the direction of law and politics, so I was in Student Government in College in various functions. When I was a justice on the judiciary, I would review student appeals for parking tickets and moving violations. During that time, I would suggest an outlandish criterion for review to the other justices embodied in my famous one-liner, "I think we she give her an appeal on the grounds that she is really hot and attractive." It was all an arbitrary and subjective process anyway. I think that was a good appellate criteria myself. I even tipped a lady off once when campus cops were patroling certain parking lots, and got her out of a ticket.

Seriously, this is how it works in the real world justice system. Look how many times my sister has been pulled over by a police officer, and then how many times she was ticketed? And even than, she has a double fail-safe, of batting her eyes before a judge, and getting out of trouble which sometimes works in her case. Then look at me in contrast!! I'm hopeless! 5 tickets in 3 years! Yet she gets away with everything. I know of many other women with such good fortune. This is equal justice before the law. It just happens, that some people—women in particular—are more equal than others.

In other words, you're a lady. So, don't sweat it. That means it will be thrown out for sure. ;-)

"arbitrary and subjective process"...yep, ryan's just about hit the nail on the head. i'm wondering why we still call it a "justice system". interesting thought.

Best of luck in court. I have to agree with your mom, there's not alot of justice left in our Justice System.

I just read that post- man, how annoying!!! It is worse when you are penalised for something you have not even done and you can't yell and scream about it. I pray that the jusge will take the time to listen and that all goes well.

I'll pray you'll get a nice judge, but look on the bright side. The worst that could happen is you get a ticket and pay a fine and your insurance goes up...but it's all just money and temporal and who needs it anyway.

Praise God this world is not our home! *wink*

I totally sympathize with you, I've had more than my fair share of run ins with traffic cops.
